2012 Pushcart Nominees Announced

We’re excited to announce our 2012 nominations for The Pushcart Prize. For those unfamiliar, Pushcart nominations are made by small presses and literary journals, and for over three decades the winners of the prize have been featured in an annual collection. We choose our nominations through the power of pure democracy: every editor makes a list of six pieces, and we tally them up. If we did it any other way, we’d probably end up debating for years — that’s a testament to the quality of work we’ve received over the past year.

Jason M. Jones

Roxane Gay

Jeannine Hall Gailey

Susan Gubernat, for “Pears in Winter” (32.2)
